For Students:

Go
to the Turnitin.com home page and click on the "User
Login" button. |
|

|
Click
on the button that reads" Click here to get started". |
|
·
|
Fill
in the required information to register as a new user
and create your personal user profile. |
|
·
|
Submit
your information and your personal Turnitin.com user information
will be e-mailed to you. |
|
·
|
After
receiving your user information via e-mail, return to
the Turnitin.com home page. |

Log In to your Personal Home Page: |

Select
"Student" as your user type. |
|
·
|
Enter
your e-mail address and password.. |
| Creating
Your "Personal" Page |

Select
"Student" as your user type. |

|
Enter
your e-mail address and password.. |

You
will not be able to submit papers, obtain class assignments,
or use other functions of your Turnitin account until
you join a class and link your personal account to an
active Turnitin.com account. |

·
|
Click
on the "Join New Class" link. |
|
·
|
Enter
the class I.D. and password provided by your professor.
You may now submit papers to the class that you have linked
to. |
|
·
|
Click
on the title of the class (class link) that you would
like to submit the assignment for. |
|
·
|
Select
the assignement from the menu and upload your file. |
|
·
|
The
originality report will appear on your Turnitin.com page
provided your professor has opted to make it available
to you. |
|
·
|
The
originality report will appear after 24 hours of your
submission provided your professor has opted to make originality
reports available to you. |

If
your professor allows you to view your originality report,
you have a 24 hour "window" to re-submit your
assignment. If you re-submit an assignement, the previous
submission will be overwritten |

REMEMBER:
Originality reports sometimes indicate cases of possible
plagiarism when in fact it is not the case. You professor
will review your originality report and determine whether
or not the software is accurate in detection. |

|
Class
assignments generally have an expiration, make sure you
submit an assignment prior to the deadline. |
|
·
|
Check
with your professor to find out how to join their class. |
