E-ZBorrow is a patron-initiated interlibrary loan system established by the Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium, Inc. (PALCI). E-ZBorrow provides access to books that are not available in the Connelly Library. You simultaneously search the catalogs of over fifty academic libraries in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and West Virginia and submit your requests to libraries whose catalogs indicate that the books are available. If you need other types of materials, such as copies of articles, videos, dissertations, and microforms, that are not available in the Connelly Library, use Interlibrary Loan.

Who is eligible to use E-ZBorrow?

• All current La Salle University faculty, students, and staff who are in good standing with the library and who have a valid ID card and an up-to-date library circulation record can request books through E-ZBorrow.

How do you submit an E-ZBorrow request?

• Select Borrow from Other Libraries on the library’s home page. Under PALCI E-ZBorrow, select Submit a Request. Enter your Patron ID (the 14-digit barcode on the back of your ID card). Select Searching/Requesting. If you do not find the book you need in E-ZBorrow, request it through Interlibrary Loan.

How long does E-ZBorrow take?

• Most books are received within one week or less.

Is there a charge for using E-ZBorrow?

• You will not be charged for borrowing books through E-ZBorrow, but you will be held financially responsible for any damage or loss while books borrowed through E-ZBorrow are in your possession.

How will I be notified when books are received?

• E-ZBorrow will automatically notify you by email when books are received. The From line in your e-mail will read “POSTMARK [nobody@huron.library.pitt.edu].” The Subject line will say “La Salle University notification.”

Where do I pick up and return books?

• You can pick up and return E-ZBorrow books at the Information Desk in the Connelly Library.
