New EXPANDED Connelly Hours!

Connelly Library is pleased to announce a significant increase in the number of hours it will be open for student study activity beginning the week of March 21. With the enthusiastic support of the President, the Deans’ offices and Library staff, Connelly Library will be open an additional eight hours per week, including:
• Remaining open until 1 AM Monday through Thursday during regular weeks, and
• Extended weekend hours beginning at 10 AM on both Saturday and Sunday.

We have an exciting trial here at Connelly Library: Swank Digital Campus – 300 of the most requested movies on college campuses nationwide are available to stream.  Take a look right now and start viewing!

 

Using a mobile device? Please download the free “Swank Media Player” App.  This is available through the App Store and Google Play.  The movies will be accessed through the mobile device browser and will automatically be played through the Swank App

“Swank Digital Campus allows students, faculty and staff to view licensed content on an individual basis

using personal computers and mobile devices (iOS and Android operating systems).  Faculty and staff

can also show content in a secured classroom setting to registered students for specific course support

or clearly defined academic purpose.  Any cross-campus promotion for classroom viewings, large screen

event showings or availability of individual titles is strictly prohibited.”

Tom Gola Papers open for research

The La Salle University Archives is pleased to announce that the Tom Gola Papers have been processed. This collection, which includes twenty linear feet of documents, photos, and objects, is open for research to the La Salle community and the general public.

Tom Gola, Class of 1955, was a standout basketball player at La Salle, leading the Explorers to an NCAA Championship win in 1954. After graduation, Gola played 11 seasons in the NBA with the Philadelphia Warriors and the New York Knicks. His political career included two terms in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, one term as City Controller of Philadelphia, and an unsuccessful run for mayor of Philadelphia.

Collection highlights include photographs documenting Gola’s basketball career from middle school to the NBA, scrapbooks from his personal and professional life, and his Basketball Hall of Fame award.
