La Salle University ID card must be presented to the security officer assigned to the lobby desk for inspection prior to entering the library.
Area Residents
Only those residents that reside in zip codes 19138, 19141, and 19144 are eligible to register for Connelly Library usage privileges. Guests must adhere to the following guidelines:
Children under the age of 15
Children under the age of 15 are not permitted entrance to the building unless accompanied by an adult. Children under 15 years of age but participating in the neighborhood tutoring program must be accompanied by an adult for admittance and the entire distance to the Library’s Lower Level.
Your circulation record expires at the end of the spring academic session and at the end of the summer academic session. Anyone interested in borrowing material or using the Library’s electronic resources during summer sessions is required to update their circulation record at the Connelly Library Circulation Desk. Anyone interested in borrowing material or using the Library’s electronic resources upon returning to the University for fall semester is required to update their Circulation Record at the Connelly Library Circulation Desk. In order to update your circulation record you must provide the Library with accurate, up-to-date personal information including: current local address, permament address, telephone number, and major.

Borrower Information and Restrictions The library’s circulating collection is located on the 2nd Floor, 3rd Floor, and the 3rd Floor Mezzanine. Class materials kept on Reserve may be checked out at the Circulation Desk. Reference books, annual reports, magazines, newspapers, bound periodicals, and microform cannot be checked out and do not leave the library.
La Salle University students, faculty/staff, alumni, and area residents may borrow material from the Connelly Library by presenting a current La Salle University ID card at the Circulation Desk. In order to check out material, you must present a valid La Salle University ID with a barcode sticker. Books may be borrowed for up to three weeks and renewed twice (see renewals), but may be recalled after two weeks if a hold has been placed by another patron. All library material must be properly checked-out prior to exiting the library. All books, bags, briefcases, and other hand-carried items are subject to inspection.
Borrowing library material means that you are responsible for:
All Audio-Visual material must be returned directly to the Audio-Visual Department.

Regular Material from the Circulating Collection: Overdue fines for regular circulating materials are assessed at $.10/day, or $.50/day if the book has been recalled by another patron. Audiobooks: Overdue fines for audiobooks are assessed at $1.00/day. An audiobook that is more than 28 days overdue is considered excessively late and accrues a replacement charge of $100.00 and an additional processing fee of $15.00. Videos: Overdue fines for videos are assessed at $1.00/day. A video that is more than 28 days overdue is considered excessively late and accrues a replacement charge of $20.00 and an additional processing fee of $15.00. Reserve Items: Overdue fines for Reserve material are assessed at $1/hr. for two hour check-outs, and at $5/day for overnight items
A balance of $5 or more suspends your borrowing privileges. The entire balance must be paid to reinstate your account. Please be aware, the library requires full payment of all outstanding fines and fees at the start of the academic year.
A book that is 28 days past due is considered excessively late and is inaccessible to other library users. Once a book is 28 days overdue you will be billed for the cost of the book, a $10 billing fee, and a processing fee. When you return a book that is 28 or more days overdue, the charge to cover cost of the book is dropped. Regretfully, we must collect the $10 billing fee to cover expenses incurred in our attempt to recover and/or replace this severely overdue book. If a book is billed AND recalled, you are also responsible for all recall fines.
In Person Material must be renewed no later than one day before the due date. Material may be renewed in person at the Connelly Library Circulation Desk. Renewal over the phone is not permitted. Any borrower may renew their books, however, you will be unable to renew material if you have a block on your record. the following conditions also apply. Requests for renewal of interlibrary loan materials must be made through the ILL Department (X-1287).
Online
Items will not renew online on or after the due date stamped on the item. If you wait until the due date to renew, you must bring the material in to the Library for renewal.
Group study rooms are available in the library for study and research purposes. Only La Salle students, staff, and faculty are permitted to use these rooms. A minimum of two people must be present in order to use a group study room. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are not accepted for group study rooms.
There is a two-hour time limit for use of these rooms. Keys must be presented for renewal if needed after the two-hour limit.
All borrowers must present a valid La Salle ID in order to check out a study room key.
Study rooms should not be left unattended and that the Library assumes no liability for personal belongings. Food and drink are not permitted in the study rooms.
