Viet Nam Generation Journal, Volume 6, Number 3-4. Cover art by Cedar Nordby, 1994.
We are excited to announce the new home of an old online feature, Vietnam Generation. Vietnam Generation was a journal published between 1989 and 1996. The journal and its newsletter are packed with essays, poetry, book reviews, and other scholarly resources in the field of Vietnam War studies. Special Collections houses the archives of Viet Nam Generation, Inc., which provides researchers opportunity to study the workings of a small press, and discover hundreds of manuscript works by notable authors in the field.
Please visit our new feature in La Salle’s Digital Commons: http://digitalcommons.lasalle.edu/vietnamgeneration/. Improvements to the feature include full-text searchability, keyword indexing, brief abstracts for individual articles, and access to Vietnam Generation Newsletter, which was previously not online.

The Department of Special Collections houses over a dozen special research collections. Each collection presents countless opportunities to analyze complex topics. Our vision has been to develop versatile collections that support historical and cultural inquiry, and to support and contribute to interdisciplinary research for the various scholarly communities associated with Philadelphia’s academic institutions and the La Salle University community. Each year the Connelly Library showcases a new exhibition to highlight and analyze our unique resources. Exhibits remain on view on the first floor of the Library throughout the school year. Our new La Salle Local History LibGuide was developed to direct researchers to the abundance of resources related to our local history at La Salle. Over the years many La Salle students have studied the people and places associated with these grounds, and some of that research has been incorporated into websites and exhibitions, which you will discover in this guide. The Connelly Library’s Department of Special Collections houses a number of small archival collections related to these historic properties.
