Profile
Management Professor Lynn E. Miller received a B.A. from Slippery Rock State University and M.A. and Ph.D. from Northern Illinois University. She teaches courses in Organizational Behavior and Organizational Design at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Professor Miller’s research on occupational closure processes has addressed historical actions that limited the production of medical doctors, excluded women and blacks from the profession, and drove up physician wages in the United States. Her current work addresses theoretical debates regarding how processes of legitimation and competition shape populations of organizations over time. She also has published articles describing classroom exercises that she developed.
