The Part-Time Master of Arts in Professional and Business Communication degree is a 36-credit program requiring all degree recipients to complete:
- The five-course core.
- The practicum proposal (COM 625) and the practicum (COM 626), after at least 30 graduate credits and all the other Core classes.
- The completion of 16.5 credits towards a track and electives.
The four tracks are Communication Management, Communication Consulting and Development, Public Relations, and General Professional Communication. Generally, Master’s students should plan to complete their Core requirements, with the exception of COM 604, 625, and 626 in the first several courses they take.

Students must complete the program with a minimum 3.0 G.P.A. They have seven years from their first matriculation to complete all requirements for the degree.
