Candidates must possess an undergraduate degree in English or a related discipline, with a GPA of at least 3.0. In addition, candidates must present transcripts of all undergraduate course work and scores from either the Graduate Record Examination General Test or the Miller Analogies Test. Candidates for the Certificate Option may be admitted on a conditional basis. After the completion of two courses with grades of “B” or better, the student may, with the approval of the graduate director, be formally matriculated into the graduate degree program.
It should be noted that the stated admissions requirements are construed as guidelines; the admissions committee fully recognizes that some candidates may present either credentials or prior experiences that lay beyond the parameters described here.
