La Salle Universirty Art Museum receives state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

Particular strengths of this collection are works of the Northern school, and include paintings by Nicolaes Maes, Jacob Duck, Jacob von Ruisdael and Jan Davidsz de Heem. The group is rounded out by a striking Caravaggesque painting by the Roman master Bartolomeo Manfredi.
