In order for students to enroll in POL 460 or POL 461, the Political Science Internships, students must be a Political Science or Public Administration major, with junior level standing and a minimum GPA of 3.0. Students participating in POL 460 or 461 receive 3 hours of academic credit and spend approximately 10 hours a week at their internship placement (which can be with an elected official, a candidate for office, a legal office, a non-profit, or an administrative agency). The following are placement sites for interns from 2009 to the present:
