The Political Science Department offers undergraduate students the choice of three courses of study:
The Political Science major introduces students to the four major sub-fields of the discipline: American Government, Comparative Government (including western and non-western political systems, International Relations, and Political Theory. This major is an excellent preparation for students interested in graduate studies, law school, careers in international and domestic politics, and many other areas.
For those interested in a career in world affairs, the International Relations major will be of particular interest. This interdisciplinary major offers significant student choice, including courses in political science, economics, history, and other disciplines, and also requires four foreign language courses. The major is designed to be paired with travel study or a career in public affairs.
Politics, Philosophy, and Economics
The Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE) major is a unique program that originated in England and is offered at only one other university in the region. It offers a broad training in each of its three disciplines and is ideal preparation for graduate study or a career in public affairs.
