Presidential Search

Dear Member of the La Salle Community,

This is an exciting and pivotal time in the University’s history. I am confident that we will have a very successful and productive year, and that the culmination of this year will be the appointment of a new, talented, and committed President. As we begin a new academic year, I want to take this opportunity to update you on the progress that has taken place on the Presidential Search this summer.

Recently, I appointed a Presidential Search Committee to help move this important process forward. The Committee includes many talented individuals with diverse perspectives, with representation from students, faculty, alumni, trustees, and the Brothers of the Christian Schools. In addition, numerous nationally recognized search firms with experience in higher education presidential searches were interviewed. Following a highly competitive process, Andrew C. Wheeler, the Managing Director and Practice Leader of the Education and Not-for-Profit Practice at Diversified Search in Philadelphia, was selected to assist us. He and his firm have extensive experience working with colleges and universities.

Moving forward, our next step will be to update the Presidential Search Profile document we created last year. In order for the Search Committee to update this profile, Andrew will begin to collect from La Salle constituencies the attributes that they believe the next President will need to possess to advance the University. Andrew will be visiting the University in September to conduct this study. All members of the La Salle community will have the opportunity to participate in this process. In the coming weeks, we will provide you with more information regarding how you can provide your input.

This is the first of regular messages you will receive from me as the search process moves forward. This site will serve as a repository for all public information related to La Salle University’s Presidential Search. The site also has an e-mail link,, for sharing your thoughts and questions directly with the Search Committee.

I thank you in advance for your support as we move through this very important process.
