- To assist targeted students with the transition from high school to college by providing the resources and support services necessary for them to thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.
- To assist AEP scholars with the development and achievement of their educational and life goals by helping them to fully understand and utilize the campus and city resources that are available to them.
- To nurture a community of scholars and create a sense of collegiality among them through active participation in a residential learning community, skill-building workshops, targeted and smaller academic classes, a variety of social and teambuilding activities, etc.
- To promote individual student success through a pre-college experience and subsequent first-year programming that provides students with a solid foundation and with a close working relationship with faculty and staff.
- To create programming and other initiatives that increase the retention and matriculation rates of those indentified as AEP scholars, thereby advancing the Lasallian mission through access to educational opportunities regardless of economic or educational disadvantages.
