Who We Are and What We Do

What Students Say

On how La Salle eases the transition between high school and college:

  • “I believe that La Salle does a great job in helping ease the transition to college.  There are so many support services and activities to take advantage of.”
  • “La Salle couldn't really help any more than it already has.  I learned about time management and other resources that help[ed] my transition.”

On Learning Instruction Workshops:

  • “It broke down what I needed to do.  I didn’t realize how much work I had until I saw it written on paper.”
  •  “It gave me steps to take for effective reading and studying.  This will put me on track.”
  •  “Definitely gave pointers to help me realize what I have to do to schedule my time”
  • “It made me realize what I have to do to get on track.”

On the rewards of being a peer mentor (Big E) for first-year students (Little e’s):

  • I was thankful for the chance to meet a lot of new people and help the Little Es adjust. I think that having someone just in case really helped put the students at ease.
  • I enjoyed getting to know the students and helping them as much as possible. The students that I met on their first day at La Salle took advantage of the program and seemed to appreciate the help.
  • I think it is important to be there for our Little es. I think they need an extra outlet, away from Administration and faculty and staff to discuss or ask questions about whatever they are having problems with. I received several e-mails from a student about non-related school topic[s] and the ability to have that satisfaction in helping him/her out with his/her conflict was quite rewarding.
