Elinor Holland shares her journey into this ancient
art and explains its spriitual significance. She is a student of
Islamic calligraphy in the traditiona method of the Ottoman Hattat
(calligraphers).
Astudent of both Arabic and English calligraphy for
20 years, she had Islamic calligraphy to students of all ages at
a variety of settings, including the Smithsonian Institute and the
Detroit Institute of Art.

the Venerable Losang Samten, Spiritual Director of the Tibetan
Buddhist Center in Philadelphia, and former Dance master of Namgyal
Monastery, for a lecture and demonstration of elements of Tibetan
ritual dance. He will show a video of a dance in which he participated
in 1989 and explain the gestures and movements of this dramatic
ancient art.
