Letter from the Dean
Welcome to the School of Arts and Sciences, the University’s largest academic unit and home to 33 undergraduate and 14 graduate degree programs. Here, excellent teaching and engaged learning are enhanced by a focus on the individual student’s intellectual, moral, and spiritual well-being.
Embracing the traditions of the Christian Brothers, connections are made between the practical applications and theoretical foundations in an environment that promotes the value of social justice. The curriculum and co-curricular activities not only connect students to a rich array of resources in Philadelphia and the surrounding region, but they also provide a basis for developing and international perspective.
Members of the La Salle faculty are scholars in their disciplines, committed to challenging students to reach heights beyond their dreams. Validation of the effectiveness of a Lasallian education is reflected in our alumni: respected experts in one or more fields, contemporary leaders who make a positive impact on the social, political, professional, and moral challenges of our time, and productive citizens in a global community.
Can you see yourself among the successes? Why not explore the possibilities?
Thomas A. Keagy, Ph.D.
Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences
