The College of Professional and Continuing Studies (CPCS), within La Salle University, is dedicated in, the traditions of the Christian Brothers, to excellence in teaching and to concern for both ultimate values and for the individual values of its students. CPCS is fully committed to providing a liberal education of both general and specialized studies to adult learners, especially in underserved communities.
Through effective online, hybrid and face-to-face teaching, we strive to offer quality education founded on the idea that one’s intellectual and spiritual development goes hand in hand, complementing and fulfilling each other. The University and CPCS seek to teach its students the basic skills, knowledge, and values that they will need for a professional life. The CPCS initiated programs also aim to prepare students for informed service and progressive leadership in their communities and to fulfilling the immediate and long-term goals of their lives.
We believe in salvation through education. An educated population can achieve its full human potential. CPCS credit and noncredit programs will be offered to a wide diversity of individuals through in-person and online learning formats. Our programs will accommodate the busy schedules of working adults, stay-at-homes, geographically remote and returning learners.
As an undergraduate institution, CPCS is committed to a liberal arts education that assists students in liberating themselves from narrow interests, prejudices, and perspectives, and in learning to observe reality with precision, to judge events and opinions critically and independently, to think logically, to communicate effectively, and to sharpen professional perceptions.
As a graduate institution, CPCS strives to support the career aspirations of learners and meet the needs of society. Graduate education at La Salle emphasizes the students’ ability to apply universals and specifics to actual situations, to distinguish relationships, to analyze critically, to rearrange component ideas into new wholes and to make judgments based on external criteria.
