La Salle Breaks New Ground with One of a Kind Treatment Center
The new Center for the Study and Treatment of Anger and Violence, located at the La Salle University Community Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (Good Shepherd Hall) has begun operations.

This center dedicated specifically to the study and treatment of anger related disorders, a major social and behavioral health issue, is the first of its kind in the United States, and embodies the community service, educational, and scholarship mission of the University.

The Center, directed by Dr. Frank Gardner, Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of the PsyD Program, is staffed by a post-doctoral fellow in clinical psychology, a psychology intern, and doctoral students from the PsyD Program, and has been designed to provide an active research and treatment program for individual and family problems relating to clinical anger. Open to the community at large, the Center has recently made a presentation to the Philadelphia Probation Department, which has begun to refer clients mandated for treatment of anger related offenses.

In addition to treatment services, the Center is already actively engaged in a program of research and will involve both doctoral and undergraduate students in its research activities.

The Center can be contacted by calling 215.951.1006.
