On Sunday, September 26, 2004 a group of twenty First Year Odyssey (FYO) students accompanied Dr. Rhonda Hazell on a multicultural outing to the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in West Philadelphia.
The "First Year Odyssey" refers to the one credit program which introduces freshmen to La Salle University and the city of Philadelphia through activities such as field trips and campus wide programs.
Students participate in the First Year Odyssey as part of designated courses or in special First Year Odyssey sections.
Pastor Albert F. Campbell warmly welcomed all the LaSalle Students during the service and then spent time talking with them afterwards to learn more about the First Year Odyssey.
The students enjoyed their visit to Mt. Carmel, learning many new things about different cultures, religious traditions, and politics - as well as how to maneuver around the city of Philadelphia via the subway!
