The New Teachers' Institute has been a feature of summer conferencing at La Salle University for the past four years. NTI, as it is popularly known, is a joint venture of the educational offices of the Baltimore, New York and Long Island-New England Districts of the De La Salle Christian Brothers.
During the period from August 2nd to August 5th, some 55 teachers, who are new to Lasallian schools, will be on La Salle's campus. Their program will blend practical insight into the “nuts and bolts” of teaching, lesson preparation, classroom management and assessment, with an exposure to the ideals, philosophy and mission of Lasallian education.
This year, for the first time, experienced teachers, new to Christian Brothers education, will participate in a separate, shorter program, which will explain the key ideals and practices of Lasallian schools.
