A review of Marjorie Agosín’s Gabriela Mistral: TheAudacious Traveler by Dolores Lehr appears in the current issue of the Journal of International Women's Studies, an online open-access peer-reviewed publication.
Winning the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1945, Mistral was the first Latin American writer to receive this prestigious prize and one of only ten women who have been awarded it. This collection of 16 essays focuses on Mistral’s achievements as a poet, educator, diplomat, and humanitarian.
Mistral is one of the writers being studied this semester in English 370: Women Literary Laureates.
