La Salle Alums Develop Internet Radio Station with Philly Legend

Biondo Communications, owned and managed by three La Salle University Alumni (brothers Anthony Biondo '00, Joseph Biondo '01, and John Biondo '04) announced today that it has been selected by legendary Philadelphia radio DJ Hy Lit to assist in the development of an online oldies radio station. Mixed in with the music are classic WIBG, Radio 99 jingles that were commonly heard during the popular Hy Lit show in the 1950’s and 60’s.

"Now people worldwide will have the opportunity to hear Hy Lit and the ground breaking music he played that helped put Philadelphia on the rock n’ roll map." said, Anthony J Biondo, CEO of Biondo Communications.

Hy Lit has been the voice of Philadelphia radio for the last 50 years. He is a pioneer of rock n’ roll radio and has emceed shows with Elvis, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and a myriad of other stars and celebrities during his illustrious career. Hy Lit traveled on the road with the Beach Boys and the Harlem Globetrotter and hosted a local TV show "The Hy Lit Show:, which included rare performances by Top Ten artists such as Otis Redding, Joe Cocker, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, The Young Rascals, Mary Wells, The Contours, The Commodores, and many others.
