Tony Waltrich, Assistant Professor of Communication, has recently garnered local acclaim for his original acrylic paintings. Shown here, Waltrich's painting, Sea Watch, beat out 40 other competitors to take first place in the Non-professional category at the Greater Norristown Art League art competition.

Last spring Waltrich exhibited at the Perkiomen Valley Art Center's Members Exhibit where he won The Mennonite Heritage Center Award of Merit with the acrylic painting Sunday Morning.

Both the paintings feature the English Springer Spaniel, "Daisy," who Waltrich feels brings another visual dimension to the paintings' storytelling.
