ASE was established in 1941 and has more than three hundred members from more than 30 countries. “Members seek to explore the ethical foundations and implications of economic analysis.” As the President-elect in 2004, George made arrangements for all ASE sessions at the Allied Social Science Associations conference that took place in Philadelphia, January 6-9, 2005. At the end of his term, early next year, George will give the Presidential address to members of ASE in Boston. He has published numerous articles on various economic issues in refereed journals. In 2001, he published a book, Preference Pollution: How Markets Create the Desires we Dislike (University of Michigan Press), which has been very well received. | |
