Communication professor Mike Smith helped the Public Relations Society of America and the Philadelphia Soul Charitable Foundation with "PRoject Soul Arise" during the fall break. PRoject Soul Arise sent teams of Philadelphia Soul players and public relations professionals to three nonprofit sites in the Delaware Valley. The event was held in conjunction with the PRSA International Conference held in Philadelphia. In addition to pushing a paint brush, Smith and other PR pros provided the Northern Home for Children in Roxborough with advice for promoting its organization. Smith also worked to publicize the event, which was covered by CBS 3 and 6 ABC.
