| Cornell University Press has published the twenty-first and final volume (1256 pp.) of its complete edition of works by the nineteenth-century British poet William Wordsworth: The Excursion, ed. Sally Bushell (Lancaster UK), James Butler (Professor of English, La Salle), and Michael Jaye (Rutgers). Scholars from Cornell, North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Simon Fraser, La Salle, Oxford, and Yale supervised the Cornell Wordsworth Series, which published its first volume in 1975. Writing in the London Times Literary Supplement, Thomas McFarland of Princeton University wrote that "The Cornell Wordsworth [is] . . . incontestably one of the great scholarly ventures of our time." James Butler is associate editor of the series and the editor or co-editor of three volumes within it. |
