Stacey Kauffman, a junior English major, is being awarded a $1000 scholarship by the Society for Technical Communication, Philadelphia Metro Chapter. Kauffman, a student in Dr. Dolores Lehr’s Technical Publishing class, competed with other students from universities throughout the Delaware Valley and won the scholarship based on her academic achievements, recommendations from professors, and expressed interest in technical communication. The award, being presented on March 17 at the chapter’s annual conference at Penn State Great Valley, provides $1000 toward tuition and a one-year membership in STC. STC is the largest organization of technical writers, editors, and publishers throughout the world with over 140 chapters and 15,000 members.
