La Salle's NSF-SENCER team presents poster on Capitol Hill
Peg McManus, Diana Montague, Stefan Samulewicz, and Pat Wilson presented their invited poster at the National Center for Science and Civic Engagement's Symposium and Poster Session on Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C. The session showcased projects in the NSF-SENCER initiative from twenty-five national colleges and universities to Congress. The goal of SENCER (Science Education for New Civic Engagement and Responsibility) courses is to enhance students' interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education through a civic component and active learning pedagogy. Drs. Montague, Samulewicz, Wilson, and Jane Turk are currently teaching an interdisciplinary course on "The Search for Identity in the College-Age Student," addressing identity from the psychological, biological, and technological points of view.
