Angeles, Assistant Professor of Religion, presented a paper entitled: "Labor Migration and the Balik-Islam movement in the Philippines" at the American Academy of Religion Conference in Chicago on November 2, 2008. The paper argued that the Philippine labor migration, particularly to Saudi Arabia, has affected the composition of Philippine Muslims and has contributed to the growing pluralism of Islam in the Philippines. |
