Criminal Justice Class Tours Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility
Twenty-one students from Thomas Wolf’s Institutional and Community Corrections class toured the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility, located in Northeast Philadelphia, on Tuesday, February 24. The tour was hosted by Robert Eskind, Public Information Officer for Philadelphia’s prison system. The facility is a new generation jail where inmates live in 32 separate PODS. All activities including eating, sleeping, hygiene, recreation, and treatment are conducted in the PODS. In addition to taking the tour, the students were able to speak with correctional officers and inmates housed in the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program within the facility.
