American Studies Class Hikes in the Wissahickon

Nineteen students in American Studies 200: Wilderness and American Life spent about two hours hiking along the rugged trails on the creek of the Wissahickon earlier this month., The class taught by Dr. Ryan, Hediger, Assistant Professor of English , has been reading about the history of the Wissahickon in addition to studying American painters and composers and such writers on wilderness as Jefferson, Thoreau, and Roosevelt.
