Communication Students and Alums Receive Public Relations Honors

Recognized for her outstanding achievement and commitment to public relations, Maria Muscara a senior Communication major, was the inaugural recipient of the John D. Graham Scholarship, provided by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Foundation. The award, which included a certificate of achievement and a check for $5,000, was funded by a donation from Fleishman-Hillard International Communications and presented at the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) 2009 National Conference in San Diego. Allison Freeman, another senior communication major and President of La Salle’s PRSSA chapter, received the Anne Sceia Klein Professional Promise Award at the 2009 Pepperpot Awards ceremony in Philadelphia for her dedication to advancing the field of public relations. Also, senior Dana Lopez-Spiller contributed to a project for her Leadership and Global Understanding course, which won a Pepperpot award. In addition to these students, several alums were honored at the Pepperpot ceremony: Meg Kane,’03; Kellie Fagan, ’05; Michelle Bauer, ’06; and Lisa Angelucci ’07.
