| Dr. Gail Ramshaw, Professor of Religion, received the Berakah award from the North American Academy of Liturgy (NAAL) in Milwaukee at its annual January meeting. The NAAL presented this award to Ramshaw, a past president of the organization, for her many publications in the field of liturgy, particularly for her focus on the meaning of words and metaphors used in Christian worship. After receiving the award, Ramshaw delivered an address entitled, "A Conversation with Julian of Norwich about Liturgical Language." Julian was a 14th century woman who lived for at least 40 years in a cell next to a church in England and wrote about her visions. |
