Francis Tri Nguyen, FSC, was a recipient of a National Institute of Mental Health fellowship and earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. With the support of a National Science Foundation grant, he completed a research in the area of sociology of health, specifically people’s social support and best coping strategies when dealing with stressful situations. He has presented and published papers in the areas of health, spirituality, and the Children of the Great Depression. In recent years, he has conducted research on Lasallian universities identity in the 21st century in the U.S., Mexico, France, Spain, Philippines, and Columbia. The analytical research paper stemming from this research project is published in English, French, and Spanish.
