Our Social Work Program, accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, offers professional education and service in the urban community. The program prepares competent entry-level generalist social workers for practice. These practitioners integrate the Lasallian values of respect for the individual and a commitment to social and economic justice with the theory, skills, and values of the social work profession. The program challenges students to examine issues of human diversity, populations-at-risk, and social injustices so that they will become agents of social change. The program also encourages students to undertake an exploration of self as a means of understanding and incorporating the values of the profession. The BSW degree prepares students for practice in the social services and related fields and for graduate study.
