Flubacher Scholarship
Joseph F. Flubacher '35, Professor Emeritus of Economics, lived a life of total
dedication to La Salle University. For over sixty years, he was active at the
University as a student and a loyal alumnus, an administrator and professor,
a fraternity brother, an architect of the Economics Department, a faculty leader
and organizer of the Faculty Senate, an affiliate member of the Christian Brothers,
and, in his retirement years, a Secretary to the Board of Trustees. To his colleagues,
he was always a model of dedication to the intellectual, moral, and social development
of his students. To his students, he was always a great teacher, a wise and
prudent counselor, and a reliable friend.
The Flubacher Scholarship was established in 1996 by grateful and generous
alumni, friends, faculty, and staff inspired by Dr. Joseph F. Flubacher's distinguished
teaching and example. In its first year (1999/00), up to $15,000 was available
to the successful applicant.
