Iowa School Boards to Use Feden Article to Educate Members
The Iowa Association of School Boards is preparing a packet of information for school board members regarding accountability for student achievement that will include Education Department faculty member, Dr. Preston Feden's latest article, "Fiction High School: Where Things Have to Make Sense" (Educational Horizons, Vol. 84, Number 2, Winter 2006) in the readings section of this packet.

In correspondence directed to Dr. Feden, the association wrote, "Board members will consider some "think about" questions in relation to this article and their own district situation. We believe the inclusion of your article will provide quality information for board members. We hope it also stimulates their desire to become better informed on their role of providing informed support for their staff...part of which includes providing support for staff to have access to quality periodicals."
