Feden and Oshiro Present at Math and Science Partnership Conference
Professor of Education Dr. Preston Feden and Undergraduate Research Assistant Alyssa Oshiro presented their exploratory study of the behavior of Hispanic high school students taking math and science courses at the 3rd Annual Conference of The Math and Science Partnership of Greater Philadelphia (MSPGP) held at West Chester University on November 15. In their presentation, “Why the Courses Taken by Hispanic High School Students Really Matter,” Dr. Feden reviewed the professional literature and explained the rationale for their study, while Ms. Oshiro presented the results of her survey that identified the people most influential in decision-making behaviors of high school students. She also compared two instruments that measure rapid cognition and implicit biases of those who influence these behaviors.
