La Salle University Secondary Education Department annually offers a Summer Enrichment Academy for students, grades seven through nine, for two weeks during the month of July.  The students who participate explore their own special gifts and qualities, as well as investigate new ideas and technologies and meet new friends.  Students in the Academy come from private, parochial, charter and public schools.  Each year, a new theme is crafted in order to unite and engage the students in various hands-on activities, technology, and interaction with other students.

This summer the enrichment-academy theme is “My Space, Your Space, Our Space.” The graduate-education students of La Salle University are challenged to incorporate this theme when teaching the participants.  This year’s pre-adolescent and adolescent students are learning to speak French, Italian, and Spanish as well as expanding their knowledge of Social Studies, English, Math, Physical Science, and Biology.
