| | The English Department congratulates Matthew Quick,’96, on the publication by Farrar Strauss and Giroux of his first novel The Silver Linings Playbook. According to Dr. Kevin Harty, Chair of the Department, “The main character, La Salle alumnus Pat Peoples, finds redemption after a mental breakdown in becoming an Eagles fanatic. The novel’s moment of epiphany occurs on Christmas Day on La Salle’s campus at the Tea House. The rest of the novel is set in Philadelphia and South Jersey.” |
