Sigma Tau Delta is an honor society open to English majors who have taken at least two English courses beyond the core requirements, completed three semesters of coursework through La Salle, and who have maintained a 3.0 grade point averages both overall and in major. Sigma Tau Delta members participate in a variety of service activities, and are eligible for awards at both the department and national level. The English Department Reading Series brings nationally recognized writers to campus. Recently, these writers have included La Salle alumnus Matthew Quick (author of The Silver Linings Playbook), Dan Chaon (author of Await Your Reply), Alix Ohlen (author of Signs and Wonders), and Ken Kalfus (author of A Disorder Peculiar to the Country). All readings are free and open to the public.
