I specialize in twentieth-century drama and modernist literature, particularly works by British and Irish authors. I also enjoy teaching classes on drama from other periods (including Shakespeare) and courses on professional and academic writing. In my classes, I like to supplement readings with multi-media content and—especially in literature classes—with trips to plays, museums, and other cultural attractions around Philadelphia. And, in all classes, I emphasize the roles of writing and class discussions in helping students (and me) develop and refine our ideas.
OTHER PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY:
I have published articles about radio drama by Orson Welles and Samuel Beckett, along with several short articles on writing centers and on composition pedagogy.
