My educational experience has focused on teaching the writing of college essays. Through my vast experience of working with a diversity of students in urban areas, both in Philadelphia and South Jersey, I have accumulated much needed argumentative resources for facilitating college essay writing. I originally trained in the English novel of the nineteenth century, especially Charles Dickens, and through the years, I have found this background to be most helpful in analyzing the needs of inner city students. Students from modern urban backgrounds often exhibit many similar characteristics and mindsets. These students are often challenged by learning problems due to financial deficits, not unlike those students of earlier centuries.
OTHER PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY:
I taught English for 23 years in various secondary schools in both Philadelphia and South Jersey. My extracurricular activities involved the writing and directing of stage plays.
