Spanish is spoken by more than 400 million people worldwide.  A major in Spanish will open the worlds of commerce and culture in many places throughout the globe including most of the Iberian Peninsula and a large swath of the Pacific Rim.  Not only is Spanish one of the six working languages of the United Nations, but it is becoming a viable alternative to English in United States.
