Pa. State Representative Kate Harper, a 1978 La Salle University graduate, spoke on campus about "Property, Law and the Environment" as part of the Philosophy Department’s Fall Lecture Series. Harper, who is also an attorney, said she got her start in politics when she noticed open space was being used up by developers in her community. She was first elected to her local township’s governing body and has been involved with issues dealing with the environment and pollution ever since.
