This program was developed to provide another type of mentoring experience for students interested in pursuing a career in medicine. This is a one-semester program for interested students. Selected students commit to a minimum of four hours one day per week. They are assigned a resident or fellow to follow during their time at Einstein in the departments of Emergency Medicine, Infectious Disease, Pediatrics, Orthopedic Surgery, Cardiology or Radiology. This is an excellent program that affords exposure to all aspects of a physician, including surgery, clinic, rounds, etc. In order to shadow students  must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 overall and in science and math.  When scheduling for classes, students must leave a four hour block one day a week for the shadowing experience.
