Education:
B.S., Psychology, Duke University; M.A., Ph.D., Clinical Psychology Program, Ohio State University; Postdoctoral study at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Licensed Psychologist in Maryland and Pennsylvania.

Research Interests:
My current research interests include anxiety disorders, substance dependence, international psychology, gender influences in psychopathology, feminist psychology, and women in academe. I am also interested in professional training issues.

Some ongoing projects include:

  • Gender influences on psychopathology
  • Etiology and treatment of substance dependence in women
  • Evaluation of pop psychology theories.
  • Clinical issues when working across cultures.
  • The use of technology in Clinical Psychology.

Opportunities for student research involvement:
I welcome student participation in all phases of the projects listed above (research design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation at professional conferences). I lead a Gender Research group that meets weekly in the food court, usually at 3:30 PM on Thursdays.
