McDougall Publishes Book on Cornelia Connelly
Sister Roseanne McDougall, S.H.C.J.., Assistant Professor of Religion, published last July her study of Cornelia Connelly, the founder of her religious order--the Society of the Holy Child Jesus. McDougall’s book, entitled Cornelia Connelly’s Innovations in Female Education, 1846-1864: Revolutionizing the School Curriculum for Girls, focuses upon the development and design of Connelly’s educational work within the context of evolving social history in nineteenth-century England, with emphasis upon teacher training and education for girls.
