The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.
The College Experience...
Cadets can participate in any number of activities. You can come out to physical fitness training sessions, rock-wall climbing, field training, rappelling, and Ranger Challenge (ROTC’s varsity sport). However, we also encourage our cadets to participate in as many university-sponsored varsity/intramural sports and student organizations as they reasonably can. We want our cadets to be active and well-rounded. Ultimately, we want our cadets to be exposed to as much of the “college experience” as possible.
Twice a year, Cadets attend a Dining In/Dining Out or Military Ball. This is an opportunity to learn Army social traditions, history and customs and courtesies. These are fun events for Cadets to relax, foster camaraderie, and share memories.
