SOC/SWK/CRJ Department Welcomes New Majors

Demonstrating the interconnections within the department, on Friday, August 26th, entering freshmen and faculty in the Department of Sociology, Social Work, and Criminal Justice viewed and discussed portions of “What I Want My Words To Do To You,” a movie filmed in the Bedford Hill Correctional Facility.

In the movie, playwright Eve Ensler leads a writing group of inmates, mostly convicted of murder, as they explore the reasons for and consequences of their crimes. More questions were raised by the La Salle students than were answered such as, "Is abuse the real cause?" and "Should we really feel sorry for these women?"
